Day 13| SHIFT
shift | intransitive verb: to change the place, position, or direction of, to go through a change
As we continue to maintain balance and alignment in our daily lives by letting go of the things we need to, it is undeniable that a shift will occur. You will move away from old habits that no longer have a place in the self-care practice you are building. Every great forward movement in life requires a necessary ending to create space for a powerful new beginning. You cannot carry everything you once were into the future you are meant to step into.
Shifting can take form in many ways. Perhaps you're taking a moment to look at your relationship with yourself and recognizing what specific beliefs, habits, or roles are keeping you from where you want to be. Shifting can also look like a change in perspective. Looking at things in a different way to decide if there's still room for them in your daily practice.
This energy is not about fear or loss; it is about profound, essential release.
Your commitment today is to name one thing you are ready to shift. That shift can be a permanent release or a shift in mindset. This might be a limiting belief ("I don't have enough time for myself"), a draining habit (the endless mental list of "shoulds"), or a commitment to a social role that depletes your energy. Holding onto what is meant to end requires immense, non-stop effort.
This is a time for active release. Honor what is ending with gratitude for the lessons learned, but do not allow it to linger and drain you. The moment you acknowledge the shift, the new beginning is already possible. Make one small but noticeable change in behavior today that proves you are moving in a new direction. Remember, you are not losing anything necessary; you are making space to shift in the direction you choose.
JOURNAL PROMPTS:
- What specific belief, draining habit, or old role about yourself are you ready to consciously let go of to aid your shift today?
- What small but immediate action can you take today (e.g., changing the time of your ritual, deleting an app, declining a small request) that signals a shift in your priority?
- How can you honor the ending of a previous phase of your life (or a pattern) with gratitude for the lessons, rather than sadness?
TODAY'S GIFT
Today's intention reminds me of the change of seasons from the bright and bustling spring/summer months to the dark contemplative part of the year that is autumn and winter. I leaned on that feeling to make this one-batch, box exclusive Shift oil. You'll notice many different woody notes, hints of bold spices, and flamed blood orange peel.
These oils are meant to be used for many things. They can be used directly on the skin. You can add them to the bath. If you dress candles for ritual, this oil would be a great addition to any rituals surrounding self-love, compassion, understanding, and inner peace.
