Today's intention is Truth.
Depending on what you celebrate, the big holidays are either happening now or right around the corner. Regardless, we're ratcheting up the pressure and anxieties are at an all-time high. It's important to remember right now, reality may not be exactly as we perceive it. I am speaking here to the conversations we have with our subconscious and the little lies we tell ourselves. Yesterday, we contemplated how we show up for others, today is about making sure t show up for yourself. Today's a day to make sure you're speaking to yourself in a way that is truthful.
In a nearly 20 year battle with anxiety and panic, I have found the best litmus test to be, "would I give Michelle (my best friend) the same advice." If something is tumbling around in my brain on repeat and I'm being harsh with myself, I stop and ask myself (sometimes out loud) if I was talking about this with Michelle would I treat her they way I'm treating myself right now. The answer is "no" 99% of the time. Love yourself the way you love your best friend.
Above all else, make sure you're telling yourself the truth.
Journal Prompts:
- What are two things right now that I know to be true above all else?
- How can I interrupt the patterns of overwhelm and anxiety?
- How can I be kinder and truer with myself?
Today's gift
I am a huge fan of small batch, handmade soaps. I knew this year I wanted to include soap in the box, and BlueGirl Soapworks just happens to be one of my favorites. I've been buying their soap for a few years now and the quality is one of the best I've found in the Twin Cities. Be sure to check out their website https://blugirlsoapworks.com/.
