Resolve: to decide firmly on a course of action.
The good news is you’ve already made that decision by embarking on this self-care journey. What I am hoping, is that today you resolve to show up each day enthusiastically. As I mentioned in the welcome letter, I want each day to feel good and something you look forward to. I'm also well aware that as we get closer to the winter holidays our calendars will fill and even fun things (with a little treat) can lose their luster.
How then, do we resolve to stay on course when things get tough. How can we take this resolve into other parts of our lives?
Transitions and changes come even when we don’t want them to. How we approach those changes makes a difference. Now I want to be clear, I don’t believe in positivity no matter what. Sometimes, there’s just no sugar coating or silver lining for a crummy situation. For times that aren’t truly devastating though, how can we approach things differently?
When things don’t go as planned, it’s tempting to throw in the towel or let frustration take the wheel. But what if we saw those moments as a chance to pause and reassess? Resolve isn’t about rigidly sticking to a plan—it’s about staying committed to your intentions while remaining flexible enough to adapt. Sometimes that means scaling back, shifting your approach, or simply giving yourself permission to rest before trying again. This adaptability can transform what feels like a setback into an opportunity for reflection and growth.
This week, I invite you to reflect on how your resolve can help you stay grounded—not just in self-care but in the way you approach life’s twists and turns. It’s not about perfection; it’s about continuing to show up for yourself, even when it feels hard.
JOURNAL PROMPTS
(please note there was a typo on the printed card in the 25 Days and Deluxe 25 days boxes)
- Reflect on a recent unexpected change or challenge. How did you respond in the moment? Looking back, is there anything you might have approached differently to stay aligned with your intentions?
- What does it mean to you to stay committed to something while remaining flexible? How can you apply this balance to your self-care practice or another area of your life?
- What small steps could you take to reframe times when a transition or change feels overwhelming as opportunities for growth instead of obstacles?
TODAY'S GIFT
Body butters are something I normally only offer locally. Shipping can be tricky depending on the destination temperature, but this time of year it's usually okay. That said, best to store it in a place that is cool and out of direct sunlight.
This body butter is a blend of coco and shea butters, coconut oil, and jojoba oil. I use arrowroot powder so that it isn't greasy on the skin. The essential oils for today are a blend of lemongrass, lavender, and rosemary.
I like to use it right out of the shower for a little extra nourishing, but you might want to give yourself a few minutes to let it soak into the skin before you try to get dressed.
