Day 04 | PROTECT

Protection is a word that conjures many different emotions depending on the situation. Today we're thinking specifically about protecting our peace, this practice we're building, and our self-care time. Sometimes, protection looks like setting boundaries or carving out time for yourself. Other times, it’s about prioritization—making decisions that honor what’s most important to you.

For me, protecting my practice doesn’t just mean ensuring I stick to my routine; it also means being prepared to adapt when things go sideways. Take this morning, for example, my five-year-old woke up an hour earlier than usual, throwing off the quiet time I set aside for myself. I had to balance his needs with my own, all while managing the frustration of an interrupted routine.

But here’s the key: I didn’t let that speed bump derail my whole day. Protection, for me, is also about recovery—having a plan for how I’ll recalibrate when things don’t go as planned. (Full disclosure, this took A LOT of practice. In the beginning, I definitely struggled with this.)

So, as the holiday season ramps up with its inevitable stressors, how can you protect your priorities from the demands of the outside world? How do you ensure that one unexpected moment doesn’t throw off your entire day? Use the journal prompts to reflect on ways to preserve your peace, even when life gets hectic, and remember that flexibility can be just as powerful a form of protection as structure.

JOURNAL PROMPTS

  • What are the things you want to protect this holiday season?
  • What does protecting these things mean to you?
  • What will you do when something doesn’t go as planned and you need to reset and move forward? Make a list of things you can refer back to. Tuck this list away with the intention you set on day zero.

TODAY'S GIFT

Today’s gift for all boxes is a Cleansing & Protection spray.

If you’ve chatted with me at a market, chances are I’ve mentionedthe Cleansing & Protection Spray. I absolutely love it! I use it almost daily.

I use rosemary, grapefruit, and eucalyptus essential oils in this blend. Each oil, when used by themselves are great, but when used together you get a powerhouse of protection, healing, and purification.

Rosemary - for protection, healing, purification.
Eucalyptus - for protection and healing
Grapefruit - for mental clarity, clearing energy, protection, and awareness

Use this spray on your person or in a space that needs a good energy clearing. It’s great for cleansing a space before a ritual, after you've had visitors, or protecting your peace when something difficult is on the horizon.
