Day 15| REALIZE
ˈrē-ə-ˌlīz | as in to discover to come to an awareness of
Today, we focus on the simple, powerful act of realizing where we are undermining that balance. This energy is about achieving crystal-clear self-awareness. Often, we get stuck in a cycle of depletion because we avoid the honest truth about a specific habit or thought pattern—the ones we're attached to, the deeply ingrained ones.
Your commitment today is to fully realize one specific thing you are doing that immediately costs you your time and peace. This isn't about blaming yourself; it is about finally seeing the reality of the situation. Are you sacrificing sleep to scroll, even though you know the consequences? Are you accepting commitments out of guilt? It's time to be honest with yourself and make the necessary changes. This realization is the key that frees you.
It's okay if today feels a little uncomfortable. If I'm being completely honesty, I struggled with today's intention and prompt. Mostly because that line about sacrificing sleep is a confession. *insert grimace emoji* There are many things I do throughout the year that undermine my balance and cause the road to my goals to be quite rocky. Some fully within my control, some outside of that control. My hope with these next journal prompts is that you won't be too hard on yourself. Just admitting what habits are keeping us out of balance is a step in the right direction. This isn't about blame, or shame, or guilt. It's about recognizing where we have energy waste and leaks and repairing those holes.
JOURNAL PROMPTS:
-
What specific habit, thought pattern, or commitment have you been ignoring the negative cost of?
-
What is the one clear, undeniable truth about your current schedule that you are ready to realize and accept today?
-
How can you use what you've learned on this self-care journey to bring everything into better alignment?
THE GIFT:
I mentioned on day seven that I had started experimenting with hand-dipping incense earlier this year. Many of the products I make are born from a need that I have for myself first. That is why I started making incense. Each morning, as part of my spiritual and wellness practice, I burn incense in my space. I hope you enjoy today's incense as much as I do.
When choosing this scent, I wanted to go with the opposite of today's intention. The incense today is scent No. 30. This is a scent inspired by lust, but the things we long for and give in to. While today you're identifying the things you give in to that keep you off balance, let this scent be a way to give them a little reverent and indulgent send-off.
Scent No. 30 is available in candle form in my shop in February as part of The Love Collection. It is also available year-round as part of The House Warmer gift set.
