12 | SURRENDER

sə-ˈren-dər | verb: : to give oneself up into the power of another

Sometimes, surrender is necessary. We can try to keep everything balanced and in alignment, but the reality is that it doesn't always work. Today, we're focusing on letting go: surrender.

This energy is about intentionally pausing and letting go. It's about saying "I tried. This isn't working. I'm letting it go." Sometimes, the most powerful action you can take is no action at all. Surrender doesn't mean defeat; it means ceasing resistance and allowing things to simply exist.

During times of high stress, we often exhaust ourselves trying to control every outcome, every schedule, or every person’s mood. This leads to burnout and overwhelm. Your commitment today is to identify one burden or problem you are trying too hard to solve. What outcome are you desperately trying to force or control? Now, try pausing and stepping back from it completely.

When you surrender, you gain a new perspective. By letting go of the need for control, you often create the necessary space for solutions to appear naturally. It’s like stepping away from a difficult puzzle; when you stop straining, the answer often pops right into your head. Give yourself permission to stop trying to manage everything. Surrender the urgency, surrender the need for perfection, and rest in the space of "what is." You will find that freedom and clarity come from the pause.

JOURNAL PROMPTS:

  • What is one thing you are currently holding onto that you are ready to temporarily surrender? This could be a problem, burden, or responsibility.
  • When you're trying to hold on to control, what resistance does that create? What does that feel like?  What small action can you take today to consciously release that physical tension?
  • How has surrender helped you in the past? Think of a time you had to relinquish control. How did it feel initially vs. after the dust settled on everything?
  • How would surrendering the need for control over one specific outcome directly support your ability to be present and grounded today?
