Day 05| LEARN
ˈlərn | verb: learning; transitive verb: to gain knowledge or understanding of or skill in by study, instruction, or experience
Similarly to listening to our intuition, today we're going to focus on learning. That's the reason we're here, right? We're learning something new every day. Maybe it's something about yourself, or you see things from a different perspective. We're learning that we can challenge this season of consumption and actually make space to spend time with ourselves in a meaningful way. Practicing self-care isn't about following a complicated manual; it's about paying attention. It's about learning what you need and making space for it. Each day, you collect this information. You just have to learn from it.
What made you feel good yesterday? If you're feeling exhausted, what is the root cause? Are you feeling stressed? What can you do to decompress a bit? Your mind and body will tell you what's wrong if you stop and take a second to listen to them. Sometimes, learning comes from seeing simple good examples: a friend who handles stress well, a book with solid advice, or a practice like walking that you know keeps you centered.
JOURNAL PROMPTS
-
Think back through the past week. What are some things you can learn from? Did something go really well? What part did you play in that, and can you replicate it in the future? Was something less than ideal? How can you avoid that in the future?
-
Identify one recurring habit that you know drains your energy (e.g., waiting until the last minute, sacrificing sleep). Let's fix that. What is an intentional change you can make today that will help you break this habit?
-
Thinking about the past few months, how have your actions aligned with what you hope to accomplish? Is there anything you can learn from this? Anything you need to change?
