Hiya! (and welcome to your 2024 self-care box)
Welcome to this year’s holiday self-care journey! Whether this was a gift or you decided to treat yourself, I truly hope you love what’s in store for the days ahead. In 2021, I had the idea to offer an advent calendar, of sorts, to help folks stay grounded (and pampered) during the holiday season; a way to honor your spirit in one of the busiest, and often emotionally difficult, times of year. I hope you enjoy this year’s boxes as much as I’ve enjoyed making them. They might be the best boxes yet.
Let's dive into the process and journey ahead.
Let me start by saying, there is no right or wrong way to experience this box. It is completely yours to use how you see fit. Do not stress if you don't resonate with a day, if you forget, etc. Are you super excited and want to tear open each day now and relish in the fantastic products? Go for it. Do you only care about the treat/gift, and want to skip the mindfulness exercise? Do you!
Now, with that in mind, it was curated in hopes you'd use it as a daily self-care tool. I hope this box of goodies creates a little pocket of time each day to take a breath and be kind to yourself. The absolute last thing that I want is for this to become a stress or a chore when the to-do list is already getting overcrowded.
Now that we've got that out of the way.
Each day is built around a word that serves as the daily intention. There will be a paragraph or two setting up the intention and how to incorporate it into your day. There are a few journal prompts for you to record your thoughts and reactions. This is a time for you to reflect on your self-care journey. Journaling each morning is a very big part of my daily practice and has played a pivotal role in cultivating my mental wellness. I hope it does the same for you. I know journaling isn’t everyone’s cuppa so, feel free to collect your thoughts (or don’t) however you’d like.
Be sure to scan the QR code each day. You’ll find little anecdotes about the daily intention, why the gift was chosen, and how to get the most out of it.
One last bit of housekeeping, if you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being a part of my community. I am so glad you’re here.
Take good care!

Begin
Each journey begins with a first step. You, my friend, have already taken it. You showed up. You invested in yourself. You’re here, crispy new journal in hand ready to give yourself a bit of love these next 25 days.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Think about how you’re feeling about the days ahead. What is the first thing that drifts into your mind? Perhaps you’re feeling a bit restless and your mind is busy and all over the place. That’s okay. Keep breathing and focus on beginning. When you feel calm and quiet, open your eyes and reflect on the journal prompts below.
Journal Prompts
- List out a few words that describe how you’re feeling about the 25 days of self-care ahead?
- Look at those words and which ones feel the loudest? Are they positive or negative? Take a second to think about why you chose those words. If it feels right, expand a little on why you chose those words and what that means for you.
- What is your hope for this self-care journey? When we’re sitting at the end, on the 25th day, what do you want to have taken away from all of this?
- Now taking all of these things into consideration, write out a one or two sentence intention that will guide and keep you on track these next 25 days. What is your reason for embarking on this journey? This should also be something that is comforting that will bring you back to the practice if you miss a day or two. It does not have to be deep or profound. It can be as simple as, “I want to be kind to myself everyday.”
Today's Gift
Sample Box: If you got a sample box, there’s no gift today, other than the pride of showing up for yourself. Cheesy, I know, but I mean it. Getting here is the hardest part. Take today to grab a journal or a notebook and get ready for tomorrow. Going forward, to access the content, you’ll just scan the QR code under the number.
All Full Size Boxes: Your gift today is the fabric pouch holding all of the intention cards. You may have noticed it is a bit oversized for the cards, that is because it doubles as a book protector. It’s the size of a standard paperback. It also happens to be my first artist collaboration. These pouches were handmade by my dear friend Joanna in her studio in Monrovia, California.
If you’ve followed me on Instagram you know my personality is about 75% books. So it only makes sense I’d give you something to keep those little buggers safe when you take them away from home. Wrap up your book and toss it in your bag, knowing it will stay safe. Not a reader? Don’t worry, these pouches are great for planners, keeping important things together, or depending on which size you might have an iPad.
